Elemental Series by Brigid Kemmerer

Elemental Series by Brigid Kemmerer is definitely my favorite series this year. Although I have only read the first two books, but still I can say that this series is A MUST READ. I gave this 4.5 stars in my Goodreads account.

When I was a kid, I've always wanted to have powers. Like controlling the four elements. I guess this series is just perfect for reliving my childhood dreams. Plus the characters in the books were just so dreamy like you'll reach to a certain point that you'll wish that you have them in your life for real. <sigh> As of the moment, I am having a "book crush" to Michael. Can't wait to read his story next year.

The story revolves around the four Merrick brothers who can control the four elements. Michael, the oldest, controls the EARTH. The twins- Nick, controls WIND and Gabriel controls FIRE. The youngest is Chris who controls WATER. But even though they are powerful and just living a normal life, there are people who are plotting against them and wanted them dead. The GUIDES. They are the fifth element who can control the four elements. They are hunting all the full elementals like the Merrick brothers and drive them to extinction.

THE BOOKS

ELEMENTAL 1 : STORM

Becca Chandler is suddenly getting all the guys; all the ones she doesn't want. Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread those lies about her. Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They're powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.

And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.

Secrets are hard to keep when your life's at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who's hiding the most dangerous truth of all.

The storm is coming.

ELEMENTAL 2 : SPARK

Gabriel Merrick plays with fire. Literally. Sometimes he can even control it. And sometimes he can't. Gabriel has always had his brothers to rely on, especially his twin, Nick. But when an arsonist starts wreaking havoc on their town, all the signs point to Gabriel. Only he's not doing it. And no one seems to believe him. Except a shy sophomore named Layne, a brainiac who dresses in turtlenecks and jeans and keeps him totally off balance. Because Layne has a few secrets of her own...

Books That I've Read

My goal is to read 24 books this year and as of now, I have read 17 books already.  Mostly of these books is romance, well actually, almost all of it. And this year, I’ve discovered lots of good authors when it comes to romance genre. Here is the list of the 17 books I’ve read this year.

1.       Too Good To Be True by Kristan Higgins
2.       Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor by Lisa Kleypass
3.       Breathe by Abbi Glines
4.       Exclusively Yours   by Shannon Stacey
5.       Until There Was You by Kristan Higgins
6.       Morning Comes Softly by Debbie Macomber
7.       The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks
8.       Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
9.       Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
10.    Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines
11.   My One And Only by Kristan Higgins
12.   Just One Of The Guys by Kristan Higgins
13.   Chasing Nikki by Lacey Weatherford
14.   Finding Nikki by Lacey Weatherford
15.   The Next Big Thing by Kristan Higgins
16.   The Boy Who Sneaks In My Bedroom Window by Kirsty Moseley
17.   Somebody to Love by Krsitan Higgins

Obviously, from my list above you can say that I’m a big Kristan Higgins fan. Yes, I am. I do really love her books. If you love romantic comedy stories, you’ll definitely love her.  My new favourite is Abbi Glines. I have all her books but I haven’t read it all (kinda busy to my work).  But I definitely recommend her works.  Another is Laini Taylor. Love her also.  Lastly, Lacey Weatherford.  A big thumbs up for her because she made me cry.  I  seldom cry on books, I don’t know if it’s just my hormones or my sad feeling that day when I was reading the book, but I was actually bawling my eyes out after I read it. If you want to cry and fell in love at the same time, try reading the Chasing Nikki books.
